D.A.R.E. Power Park is a 30-acre, day-use facility developed in 1997 by Alabama Power with cooperation form the local community. The name of the facility came from the winning entry in a contest to name the park. The competition was open to student members of the Drug Awareness Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) organizations at four Tallapoosa County Schools.
D.A.R.E. Power Park is only minutes from downtown Dadeville on Young's Ferry Road. The park is open from early spring through early fall.
Pavilions (which may be reserved), picnic tables, grills, restroom facilities,
a white sandy beach, fishing piers and an ampitheater make the park perfect for family outings. Attendants are available tohelp ensure that your visit is a pleasant experience. A boat ramp adjacent to the park is open year round.
